Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Sept. 26, 2018 - Dean Elledge, program director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Wichita State, has won the Dentist of the Year award from the Wichita District Dental Society.

Sept. 21, 2018 -- The WSU Board of Trustees met Friday, Sept. 21, and were given a report on the campus from John Tomblin, vice president of research and technology transfer.

Sept. 20, 2018 -- WSU graduate Julius Thomas III is touring cross country with the Broadway hit show “Hamilton: The Musical.”

At Wichita State, that means researching and analyzing two areas - the next generation of medium-sized helicopters and the next generation of tactical unmanned aerosystems for the Army.

Sept. 12, 2018 - The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State hosted the first Summer Literacy Camp for children.

Aug. 8, 2018 -- Wichita State will be home to the new Wesley Healthcare Urgent Care Center, thanks to a $3 million partnership between Wesley Healthcare and the Greater Wichita YMCA. The urgent care center will be located inside the new campus YMCA and is expected to open at the same time, in early 2020.

Aug. 2, 2018 -- Ideas turn into reality at GoCreate, Wichita State's makerspace, which in its first year already has helped 180 members bring their creativity to life.

Aug. 3, 2018 -- As GoCreate marks its second year, access to tools, technology and advice is critical to entrepreneurs and other creators.

July 19, 2018 -- It's the start of a new tradition: Starting this fall, Wichita State will have a marching band. The new band will include brass, saxophone and a drum line.

July 12, 2018 -- Wichita State student Mary Alexis Wirths is spending her summer interning with Harvester Arts, a nonprofit organization that brings artists from across the nation for two-week residencies in Wichita.

June 29, 2018 -- A group of six Master of Innovation Design students at Wichita State University participated in and won a national innovation challenge issued by Johnson & Johnson Innovation Co.

June 26, 2018 -- Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Panda Express are coming to the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State this fall.
